MANDARIN

Mandarins commercialised by MDA are selected from the best farms in Adana and the South of TURKEY. The wide variety of mandarins MDA commercialises makes it possible to provide this fruit from early October to April, commercialising Mihowase,Dobashi Beni,Satsuma,Nova and W.Murcott varieties.
Mandarins have a high vitamin C content (27mg per 100g), as well as pro vitamin A, and in smaller amounts, B1, B2, B3, B6 and minerals such as Potassium, Calcium, Magnesium and Phosphorus.

History
The mandarin orange is considered a native of south-eastern Asia and the Philippines. It is most abundantly grown in Japan, southern China, India, and the East Indies, and is esteemed for home consumption in Australia
The smallest of the mandarins, a Clementine is a hybrid fruit – a cross between a sweet orange and a Chinese mandarin. The origins of the Clementine are unclear. Some believe that it was Father Clement, an Algerian monk, who discovered this unique, natural hybrid in the mandarin garden at his orphanage and named it clementino. However, others claim that the Clementine originated in China much earlier and then migrated to the Mediterranean.
